The Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies of New Hope
We who call ourselves Christ followers at New Hope Community Church desire to carry on His mission. We also want to identify our core values and act consistently with them. While the message of Jesus Christ is timeless, the methods and programs we use to further His work are flexible. We claim no infallibility for any of our ideas, but we believe we’ll be more fruitful if we follow a well-defined strategic plan, always remaining open to how the Holy Spirit may take us in new, adventurous directions.
All people matter to God. We humbly recognize that we, along with all of humanity, are among the “lost” Jesus came to seek and save. But so many still wander unreached by His love. We continually look for ways to express that love, with the ultimate intent of glorifying God and helping people discover and develop a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Our Mission “Revealing Passion for Christ through Discipleship”
Our Vision “Creating Fully Devoted Christ Followers.”
Our Values
We Value Unconditional Love & Grace
The unconditional love and grace of Jesus Christ is the outward expression of what lies in the heart of the true believer. Loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
We Value Biblical Authority
The Bible is our authority for Christ-centered living. Biblical principles are taught and relied upon as the final authority over church traditions or human opinion.
We Value Evangelism and Progress
Eternal life in heaven comes only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We strive to teach one another how to share this good news with others and to grow in our relationships with Christ and with each other.
We Value Commitment & Excellence
Lives, families, and ministries committed to excellence, honors Jesus Christ and motivates people. Understanding that excellence is not perfection, we all can move closer to God regardless of our current status, location, knowledge or maturity.
We Value Culturally Relevant Worship & Teaching
Praise & Worship of God is vital to our Christian lives and to the life of His Church. Faith in Jesus Christ along with a personal application of relevant, biblical teaching is the catalyst for life change. We seek to stay doctrinally pure. Ministry methods are evaluated in terms of innovation and impact, without compromising the message of Jesus Christ.
We Value Authenticity & Continuous Growth
Christ-followers should manifest personal authenticity and yearn for continuous growth. In other words, we're real people with real problems who gather together to worship the real God. We do not strive to put on our "Sunday faces" and smile to fool everyone... we strive to be genuine and authentic.
SEEK.CONNECT.GROW.
We want to be a church where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, the community with each other and influence with those who are far from God. This process involves seeking, connecting & personal growth.
1. Seek (Matthew 7:7-8)
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
There are over 80 scripture verses about "Seeking" God, He does not hide from us & He always accepts those that seek him. He first loved us.
2. Connect (Hebrews 10:23-25)
Life change happens best in a place where you can be known authentically and where you can share your spiritual journey with others. A life group is often one of the best places to do that. You are encouraged to join or lead a life group. Contact the office if you would like to know more about doing either.
Connecting also means building relationships with those outside the church. People are more inclined to respond to a trusted friend than from a stranger. The love and interest we show to a non-believer or seeker cultivates the ground in preparation for sowing the seeds of the Gospel.
3. Grow (Romans 12:4-6a; Eph. 4:15-16; 2 Peter 3:18)
Growth is a lifelong process. Each Christ-follower is encouraged to grow and develop in their walk of faith. In order to be effective and impactful servants of Christ, we must discover our passion area and spiritual gifts so we can put them into action. The Holy Spirit gives every believer a spiritual gift, and that gift is to be used to benefit the Body of Christ.
